Dr. Sebi’s Food List

Dr. Sebi, originally named Alfredo Bowman, was not a Ph.D. scholar or medical doctor but rather was a self-educated herbalist, because of which his diet plans were not scientifically approved.

He believed that to live a healthy life alkaline state should be maintained in the body. Because diseases are likely to prevail in the body with an acidic environment.

Before listing down, Dr. Sebi’s diet list, there are a few rules that need to be followed:

Dr. Sebi’s nutritional guide contains a plethora of regulations, such as:

  • You can only eat foods listed in the directory.
  • You need to Dr.ink 1 gallon of natural spring water daily.
  • You have to avoid animal products, hybrid foods, and alcohol.
  • You need to avoid using a microwave. It will “kill your food.”
  • You have to avoid canned and seedless fruits.

Dr. Sebi’s diet is an extensive list of foods, fruits, vegetables, spices, nuts, grains, mucus-free, electric, non-hybrid foods that one should avoid or intake as per Dr. Sebi’s recommendations.

Beginning with Dr. Sebi’s recommended list of foods that can be consumed are:

Specifically, avocado, wild arugula, bell peppers, kale, 

  • Fruits include bananas, dates, apples, and Seville oranges
  • grains, such as wild rice, spelt rice, rye, and quinoa
  • The diet contains fats, including hemp seed, avocado, olive, and coconut. The diet recommends avoiding cooking nuts and seeds with the latter two, including hemp and raw sesame seeds, tahini butter, and walnuts, even though they provide a lot of protein.

Food Prohibition by Dr Sebi

Natural sweeteners like date sugar and agave syrup and spices like cayenne pepper and powdered seaweed are some of the herbal teas available. Additionally, Dr. Sebi’s diet also provided a list of foods that are prohibited:

All foods that have been genetically modified, including monosodium glutamate, foods that are ready to eat, honey, the majority of legumes, yeast, wheat, and animal products, are not allowed.

In addition, vegetarians are not permitted to consume certain foods, including garlic, soy, cilantro, sugar, maple syrup, parsley, cilantro, spinach, asparagus, green bananas, and green bananas.

This diet places limitations on using all Dr.ugs that may become addictive, such as coffee, alcohol, and nicotine.

Dr. Sebi’s diet’s fruit list prohibits all canned or seedless fruits. However, the following fruits are allowed:

Apples, Bananas – the one on the bottom of the Burro, which is the one in the middle (original banana). Cranberries are not allowed, but other kinds of berries, including elderberries, are welcome. Cantaloupe, Cherries, Currants, Dates, Figs, Grapes –seeded, Limes (key limes preferable with seeds), Mango, Melons –seeded, Oranges, and Seeded Melons Cantaloupe, Cherries, Dates, Figs, and Limes (Seville or sour preferred), -seeded Papayas, Peaches, Pears, Plums, Prickly Pears, Prunes, and Raisins, as well as Prickly Pears. Tamarind, Coconuts, Sugar Apples (cherimoya), and Soursops are made into a soft jelly consistency.

Dr Sebi vegetables list

Non- Hybrid vegetable/ electric food lists are God-made food items that grow naturally and are not artificial in an artificial laboratory. The approved list of Dr. Sebi includes:

Amaranth greens – same as Callaloo, a variety of Spinach, Avocado, Asparagus, Bell Peppers, Chayote (Mexican Squash), Corn Chips, Corn Tortillas or air-popped corn, Cucumber, Dandelion greens, Garbanzo beans (chickpeas), Green banana Izote – cactus flower/ cactus leaf- grows naturally in California Jicama, Kale Lettuce (all, except Iceberg), Mushrooms (all, except Shitake), Mustard greens, Nopales – Mexican Cactus, Okra, Olives, Onions, Poke salad –greens, Sea Vegetables (wakame/dulse/arame/hijiki/nori), Squash, Spinach (use sparingly), String beans, Tomato – cherry and plum only, Tomatillo, Turnip greens, and Zucchini.

Approved Nuts

Brazil Nuts, Hemp Seed, Hazelnuts, Pine Nuts, Raw Almonds and Almond butter, Raw Sesame Seeds, Raw Sesame “Tahini” Butter, and Walnuts.

Spices by Dr Sebi

Spices and seasoning flavors that are recommended as per Dr. Sebi are:

Achiote, Basil, Bay leaf, Cayenne/African Bird Pepper, Cloves, Dill, Habanero, Onion Powder, Oregano, Powdered Granulated Seaweed (Kelp/Dulce/Nori – has “sea taste”), Pure Sea Salt, Sage, Savory, Sweet Basil, Tarragon, Thyme

Cooking Oils by Dr Sebi

Though Dr. Sebi approves of cooking oils, he recommends minimal use. For olive and coconut oil, he recommends using them without cooking. However, other oils like:

Grapeseed Oil, Sesame Oil, Hempseed Oil, and Avocado Oil are allowed to be used solely and in cooking. 

Detox Diet Benefits

There is no evidence to indicate that following a detox diet will help prevent cancer or autoimmune illnesses, even though the diet is high in fiber and contains a relatively low amount of sugar.

People who participate in the cleansing ritual could have undesirable interactions with the medications they take given herbs.

Sebi diet’s limits may potentially offer dangers. Vitamin B-12 supplementation, if required, is critical in maintaining adequate food intake in the body.

Alkaline Diet 

The Dr. Sebi diet may provide a greater danger to certain persons than others. Those at risk include teenagers, nursing mothers, and the elderly because large dosages of certain alkaline “herbs” may be harmful to the body.
